Cardinal Academy is seeking an experienced parent educator to join our teaching staff in our Family and Consumer Sciences department. Cardinal Academy is a new charter school for pregnant and parenting students opening fall of 2021. We will provide a rigorous education, including pregnancy and parenting education as well as career readiness knowledge and skills. Through our partnership with The Salvation Army, students have the opportunity to take advantage of benefits such as on-site childcare, medical appointments, counseling, case management and use of the school store and food bank.
A background teaching pregnancy and parenting education is a must. The ideal candidate will have experience with at-risk teens, ACEs, resilience-building and classroom management. The candidate must have documented professional experience in parent and/or pregnancy education.
Parent educators help parents obtain the education and skills necessary to raise healthy children, physically, psychologically, and emotionally. The parent educator will work closely with students in a classroom setting and will deliver the Idaho Family Consumer Sciences curriculum.
